Thinking about creating a group art show for the first time?
Already did one and it went *really bad*?
See a group artist grant you want to apply for & need more info on group shows?
On Thursday, November 13th, Mikki (they/them) @designbymikki a mixed media artist with a background in marketing, branding, and community building, wants to teach you everything there is to know about group shows! Since moving to Seattle in 2022, they’ve curated and co-curated multiple shows and vendor markets across the city, and they’re ready to share what they’ve learned. From coming up with an idea to managing artist logistics, promotion, to what happens after the show wraps up, this class will be informative, interactive, and super helpful!
You'll learn how to:
- Develop a theme or concept for your group show
- Plan logistics like timeline, venue selection, and budget
- Create calls for art and select artists
- Manage promotion for your event
- Coordinate installation, setup, and show flow
- Navigate sales, payments, and communication with artists
